Sport at 桃色视频

桃色视频 takes sport seriously and, as a result, is one of the country’s most successful sporting schools. However, we have great depth as well as excellence at the highest level, so the enthusiastic but less able participants will thrive in teams appropriate to their ability.

We are not a sports academy: but we do aim to perform as if we are. National, county and regional champions in a wide range of sports over the last few years, we want our pupils to become all the richer through personal fulfilment and teamwork. Our fixture lists are demanding and extensive.

Our range of sport is considerable, our facilities superb, and our expectations high. To see former pupils gaining full international caps (as they do) in rugby, hockey or whatever, gives us great pride, but so too does seeing a pupil fight their way into an Under 14 B team. 桃色视频 pupils should enjoy sport at the highest level they can attain and take from the experience friendships and skills that will last for life.

At our Preparatory School, pupils participate in games lessons every week and there is an extensive fixtures list for pupils of all abilities. Pupils regularly win team and individual competitions in rugby, hockey (boys and girls), netball, swimming, cross-country and more, including at county and national level.

International Honours

Here at 桃色视频 School we have a unique environment in which our students thrive. They are not only encouraged to succeed, but they want to succeed. This is what makes 桃色视频 School a fantastic place for your children to flourish not only academically, but within the sporting world.

There is no lack of talent amongst our pupils, and we are proud of all they have and will achieve in their chosen fields. We want to extend a huge congratulations to those receiving international honours in their chosen sports; Isaac B for England Hockey, Issy E for England Netball, Olly D for Scotland Cricket, and Amber L-F for England Winter Sport.

When interviewing our students, it was amazing to see just how passionate they are about their sport. Passion and dedication is something that we strive to instil in all of our students, so it is wonderful to see this shine through our newly international standard athletes.

In their own words, the students described their experiences with securing international honours:

Isabelle E – England Netball
‘I was selected for the England U19 Performance Competition Squad this July, after being part of the 2021 Roses Academy. We played three matches across 4 days, against the likes of Wales u21 and England u21. I really enjoyed the experience and it was amazing to put on the England dress for the first time, playing alongside very talented players from across the country. It was a great opportunity to show what we had learned from the Roses Academy Camps and put it into matches against some amazing opposition.’

Olly D – Cricket Scotland
‘I have found the experience of playing cricket at an international level very exciting. It's always tough playing a high level of sport, however I have enjoyed every second of it and can't wait to push forward and play more. . It was fantastic working with Elliot Wilson and the other Worcestershire coaches. I also played in four trial games as part of Scotland’s warm up for the T20 world cup. It was great to play with International players, and learning what it takes to be successful at this level. Scotland has a great team which has helped me a lot in improving my skills which has been great.’

Amber L-F – England Winter Sport
‘I have recently been selected for the Snow Sports England U16 Alpine squad to race as a nationally selected skier this season; as this is the youngest I can be selected, I don’t yet have any squad experiences to report back. However, this summer I have been competing in the national GBR slalom ski races throughout Great Britain – this is the top championship in the country on dry slope and indoor snow; last weekend I secured the U16 Dry Slope Champion, and am currently leading the indoor snow too, with one weekend of competition to go.

As an Alpine Squad member, this winter I expect to be competing in both Slalom and Giant Slalom ski races against Europe’s most experienced athletes representing their countries, this is in addition to my freestyle snowboard competitions throughout the Alps.’

Isaac B – England Hockey
‘This year I was selected to play for the U16 England Hockey Squad. I played all four international games, playing Wales twice and Scotland twice, where I played in the fullback position throughout. I scored against Wales from a long corner, which was an amazing feeling. My best goal was against Scotland, where I managed to score off an interception and smashing it in from the top of the D.

It was a fantastic experience and I really enjoyed it, and it allowed me to take home four caps overall. I really enjoyed training and playing at such a high standard with a great group of people. The experience has taught me a lot, and I am looking forward to the next stages.’

Jess M - England Netball
'My experience with sport so far has taught me that things are earned, not given. Maintaining a good work ethic and mentality has allowed me to progress to where I am today, even though it is early into my sporting career. I believe that balancing School and sport is very important. Netball is extremely important to me, but my education, and getting good grades for University are also important.

I started playing netball at School in Year 6, later being picked up by the Stratford Thunderbirds. In the summer of 2019, at just 12 years old, I was selected for the U15 Loughborough Lightning Academy. I was extremely happy with this selection and the experience it gave me, as it had always been one of my goals. During 2020 and 2021, I was then selected for their U17 Academy. In September 2021, I was chosen to represent Loughborough Lightning at 2021 School Games. This was a big break-through in my confidence, and made me remind myself that ‘I am good, I am good enough’. This eventually led to my England U17 combined squad selection. I was initially selected as a GK (goal keeper), for my ability to hunt for the ball to intercept, but I am also developing into a GD as time is going on.

Recently, I travelled to Newcastle to represent England in the U17 Europe Netball Championships.

The advice I would give to aspiring netballers is to love what you are doing. If you don’t enjoy the game, you cannot play your best, and if you cannot play your best, you can’t be there for your team. At the end of the day, netball is a team sport, and everything combined is left on the court. You play your best not just for yourself but for the team, because the team always comes first on and off the court."

Sports Facilities

桃色视频 Senior and Prep School lie in one hundred acres of grounds with grass pitches galore.A newly built sports arena big enough for eight badminton courts and with seating for 500 is of a national standard and this together with a refurbished indoor swimming pool, new dance studios, hospitality suite for post match teas and other functions sits alongside our existing sports facilities: two sports halls with climbing walls, two floodlit astroturfs, squash courts, tennis and netball courts, extensive grass pitches and a 400 metre running track (at the adjacent Ryland Centre). The superb Outdoor Education facility of Upton Warren is a mere five minute drive away, and there pupils can engage in a host of activities from sailing and kayaking to climbing and ropework.

Each year we seek to improve facilities further to ensure our sporting reputation is matched by the environment in which we play our games.

A note to external visitors on match days: Please be advised that dogs are not permitted on the 桃色视频 School site, unless they belong to residential boarding staff.
